Newcastle: Finnish May Day

Sunday, May 1, 2016 - 11:00 to 16:00

There will be music and barbeque during the day plus games and entertainment for kids.

Finnish May Day, or vappu, is one of the biggest traditional Finnish celebrations of the year. This spring Finnish May Day will be celebrated also in Newcastle! Finns, Finnish-minded and those interested in the Finnish culture are warmly welcome to this family-friendly event.

Homemade mead and possibly some doughnuts will be served at the celebration. Bring along your own refreshments and burgers, sausages and veggies for the barbeque, and some snacks for sharing. Take also your white graduation hat or in lack of one, any kind of hat!

Come and join us to celebrate the Finnish May Day!
